The Mustangs continued where they left off when this game was postponed because of rain. They kept scoring runs, putting pressure on the Mellieha team that struggled to cope without Keith and Michael Bartolo. The Bartolo brothers are now playing for Jeka, a first division baseball club in Holland.

The Mustangs started off by adding three runs, making the score 7-2 in just the second inning. They went on to win the game 18-6 on the 10-run difference rule.

Northenders bounced back to beat the Mustangs 6-2 in game two of the double-header. Marlon Borg pitched a great game for the Northenders, allowing the Mustangs only four base hits.

The Mustangs only managed to score one run in the second inning and another one run in the sixth inning. Mellieha scored another two runs in the fifth inning.

With this win, the Northenders have secured first place for the play-offs where they will meet the team finishing fourth. The second- and third-placed teams will face each other with a spot in the best-of-three championship final at stake.

Tomorrow Mellieha host the Gozo Tornadoes at 2 p.m. and on Sunday, the Mustangs take on the Devils at 10 a.m. Both games will be played at the Marsa Baseball field.
