The celebrations of the Society of Christian Doctrine, the MUSEUM, will be concluded with an activity of Fergha Kooperaturi, a branch of the society which brings together people who wish to learn more about the Christian faith.

The society has been celebrating two auspicious events in its history: The canonisation of its founder, St Gorg Preca affectionately called Dun Gorg, and the 100th anniversary of its foundation.

The branch will also celebrate the 47th anniversary since it was granted ecclesiastical approval by Archbishop Michael Gonzi on October 17, 1960 to form an integral part of the society. This approval fullfilled a wish by Dun Gorg.

A Thanksgiving Mass for members of Fergha Kooperaturi, their families and guests led by Archbishop Paul Cremona together with a number of other priests and other members of religious orders will be held on Monday at the auditorium of the society's premises in Blata l-Bajda, at 6.30 p.m. The branch caters for males and females, both married and single. The male section has its principal centre at 48, St Publius Street, Floriana. It is also active in Gozo, Hamrun (Immaculate Conception), Paola, Qormi, Zejtun and Australia.

About 130 members attend the Floriana centre where sessions are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m.

Members of the female section meet once a month in Gudja, Ghaxaq, Hamrun, Paola and Qormi. They have a general meeting three times a year at Blata l-Bajda.

Members of the branch are not bound by any particular rules except basic ones like carrying out faithfully the duties relating to their personal status, setting a good example and being of service to others.

Further information about this activity and/or the Fergha Kooperaturi, can be obtained from the Floriana centre or by calling 2123 1985 on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 5 and 6.30 p.m.
