Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his Serbian counterpart Aleksander Vučić held a meeting this evening and discussed the possibility of investment between the two countries.

In comments to the media in Belgrade, Dr Muscat said Malta favoured Serbia's membership of the EU.

He said that the model of investment that Malta had adopted with Montenegro may also apply with Serbia. The two prime ministers agreed that the energy ministers should hold further discussions to explore further areas of cooperation.

Mr Vučic said he sees Malta as a friend of Serbia and said he looked forward to the day when Malta assumes the EU presidency in 2017.
