The jury in the murder trial of Charles Demicoli suspended its deliberations at 8.45 this evening after having started to consider its verdict at 1 p.m. Deliberation continue tomorrow Wednesday.

Mr Demicoli has been accused of the murder of Filipino sailor Perfecto Rabino Montalban by hitting him with a bar stool. The case happened in Cherries Bar, Birzebbuga, on Christmas Eve, 2000.

The trial, which was in its seventh day, was presided by Mr Justice Geoffrey Valenzia.
