The council of the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses has decided it will not lose time on arguments with people who were trying to harm the union.
It said in a statement that Antoinette Saliba and Mario Aquilina were elected council members replacing Ray Chetcuti and Corinne Ward, who resigned recently.
Together with another six former council members, they said on Wednesday that they planned to call an extraordinary general meeting to move a no-confidence motion in the union leadership.
They claimed that members of the council were sometimes not given information they were entitled to, and recent directives by the union had not been discussed in council.
