I refer to Desmond Zammit Marmarà`s Talking Point (April 29) in which he `borrowed freely` from a speech by Winston Churchill to prop his arguments against a referendum about European Union membership.

Sir Winston actually had a vision of a united Europe.

In a speech in Zurich in September, 1946, the great wartime prime minister called for the formation of a "United States of Europe".

We quite prefer Sir Winston`s European vision to Mr Zammit Marmarà`s muddled-up quote!
