The Malta Union of Bank Employees said today there had been an excellent response by its members at HSBC to a communications ban directive.
"This solidarity effectively demonstrates that the local staff is not at all satisfied with the current situation contrary to the ‘happy picture’ continuously being portrayed by the bank. MUBE has learnt a lot from this action as feedback suggests that top management needs to work much harder on making HSBC the best place to work," it said.
The directive was issued as the union presses for more favourable conditions in talks on a collective agreement. It will remain in place until further notice.
