The Missionary Society of St Paul (MSSP) Oratory in Birkirkara recently launched its pastoral programme for 2018-9.

The programme focuses on the Word of God and the Liturgy, around which all its other activities revolve. Retreats and other preparatory events are held during Advent and Lent.

A monthly one-hour catechesis session for adults takes place on the first Monday of every month. This year the sessions will rediscover the beauty of the Psalms.

A series of short courses will be delivered throughout the year on various biblical or psycho-spiritual themes, including MSSP spirituality, the art and skills of leadership, sexuality in the light of the Gospel and an introduction to the Fathers of the early Church. Specific activities in the programme are dedicated to youths, adolescents and engaged couples.

The Oratory is once again also organising a number of pilgrimages and spiritual journeys abroad, with different age groups in mind. These include one to the Holy Land between  February and March, a week in a monastery in Bose, Italy, and another on the Cammino di Santiago in April, a pilgrimage in St Paul’s footsteps in Greece in July, and a missionary experience in Peru in August.
