Lately, as I was strolling along the Msida waterfront, I stopped near the existing inlet, from which millions of gallons of ground water pass into the sea every time it rains. I wish to make a valid proposal so that some of this rain water could be saved.

The only open side of this inlet could be enclosed by a renforced concrete wall as has been done at the Sirens pitch at St Paul's Bay and other pitches, by the marine section of Public Works branch.

The large amount of water colleced in this reservoir could be used by the agriculure department during the hot summer months.

This reservoir could be covered by large concrete portable slabs so that it would be cleaned when necessary. I hope that this proposal, which would cost very little to implement, shall be given the attention it deserves, even by the Ministry of Resources, so that if approved, millions of gallons of this rain water would be saved every year.
