Msida 3, Dingli 2

Msida St Joseph completed a remarkable comeback when they came back from two goals down to beat Dingli Swallows 3-2 in this season’s opening Relegation Pool match.

The Swallows looked well on their way to clinch only their second victory of the campaign when they surged into a two-goal lead after the opening 45 minutes. Dino Cachia put Dingli ahead after nine minutes when he poked the ball home after some fine work from Joseph Okonwko.

Msida looked rattled and they fell two goals behind on the stroke of half-time when Okonkwo curled an excellent shot past the Msida keeper. However, after the interval Msida came back strongly and Nigerian striker Ndayi Kalenga restored parity with two well-taken goals on 51 and 70 minutes.

The Saints’ comeback was completed four minutes from time when Miguel Ciantar fired home after home after being set up by Kalenga.
