A 41-year-old motorcyclist from Rabat is in a critical condition following a traffic accident in Mdina Road, Attard, this evening.

The police said initial investigations show that the motorcyclist, who was riding a Yamaha 650, was involved in a collision with a Nissan X-Trail, driven by a 48-year-old man from Attard at 9.20 p.m.

The biker was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was certified to be in danger of losing his life.

Magistrate Myriam Hayman is holding an inquiry.
