Two motorcyclists were grievously injured in separate accidents on Sunday.

In the first, a 25-year-old man from Lija lost control of his Triumph and crashed in Marfa Road, limits of Mellieħa at about 10am. 

An ambulance took him to Mater Dei Hospital where he was found to be suffering grievous injuries.

The second accident happened in Triq Royal Malta Artillery in Qormi at 1.10pm when the motorcyclist , a 49-year-old from Xghajra, lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a trench. He too is in hospital.
