A 35-year-old mother of two, who had the heart of an 80-year-old, got a second chance to live when a young man fell off a cherry picker at Malta International Airport last November. Thanks to the donation of his organs, she has a new heart... and a new life.

Malta's first female cardiac transplantee speaks in tomorrow's issue of Pink about her shock on learning she had heart failure just after giving birth to a healthy baby, how she coped in the run-up to the major operation and how she feels about being alive because a young father of two died.

In the magazine's April issue, distributed with The Times tomorrow, gender disparities also run through, breaking the stereotype that women cannot control the money, and examining the differences in health matters, relationships with technology and other humorous life situations.

But a more serious aspect of gender inequality is also highlighted in a focus on domestic violence, which stresses on the danger of having power in the wrong hands.

Beauty also finds its niche, but it is the dark side of appearances that rears its ugly head. As summer approaches, women are more aware of what they consider to be their body imperfections and strive to correct. Pink delves into Body Dysmorphic Disorder where clients end up in aesthetic clinics in a vain quest to improve their jaded image of themselves.

The celebrity touch is also present in an interview with Ghost Whisperer's Jennifer Love Hewitt, who tells Pink how her own television series can spook her out.

Published by Allied Newspapers Ltd and printed by Progress Press, Pink's executive editor is Fiona Galea Debono. It is produced by Mediamaker and designed by Helen Cassar Torreggiani and Joseph Schembri.
