Hasan Ben Salah, 33, a Moraccan with a Dutch passport, was jailed for 20 years and fined €50,000 today after admitting in court to conspiring to deal in cocaine.

The case happened on November 11, 2008.

Earlier, a 32-year-old man from Paola, Ludvic Bugeja, was jailed for 14 months after admitting to having defrauded a man of €155 by illegally cashing a cheque.

Jason Scerri, 34 of St Paul’s Bay was jailed for seven months after admitting to handling stolen property in August last year. He also admitted relapsing. Police Inseptor Michael Mallia told the court that that the stolen objects had been returned to the owners.

In another case, Magistrate Daviour Demicoli jailed Maurizio Massamiliano, an Italian resident in Msida, to 14 months in jail for thefts from cars.
