Updated - A morning thunderstorm caused traffic nightmare for hundreds of motorists and pupils waiting for their school vans.

Slow traffic was reported in most areas, particularly around Cottonera, Tal-Barrani, Attard, Qormi, Naxxar Road between Mosta and Iklin, December 13 Road and Garibaldi Street in Marsa, and the bridge from December 13 road to the Regional Road.

A collision between a bus and a car in Palm Street, Paola, compounded problems in that area.

No flooding was reported, except for Valley Road, Birkirkara, where road works are under way.
