Just under 3,000 people have been vaccinated against the A H1N1 virus between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m, today, the health authorities said.

It said in a statement that 2,939 pregnant women and people suffering from chronic illnesses were vaccinated.

This process will continue until January 10. Health centres will be open between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily and from 3 to 7 p.m.

Today’s vaccinations bring the total number of people who have now been jabbed to 4,152. Health professionals started being given the jab earlier this week and will continue to be vaccinated in the coming days.

People taking the vaccine should take with them their identity card, the yellow card or a doctor’s certificate.
