More than 3,500 applications for the once-only grant for vehicles registered and licenced for personal use between May 1 2004 and December 31, 2008 have so far been validated, the government said.

Applications may be downloaded from Transport Malta’s website or collected from the offices of Transport Malta, ministries and local councils in Malta and Gozo.

No additional documentation is required to be submitted if a person is submitting his or her own application.

The heirs of deceased persons who were eligible for this scheme may also apply. In such cases, the heirs should, together with the application form, submit a joint declaration signed by a notary public.

Application forms must be sent by post to Transport Malta, Sa Maison Road, Floriana or Gozo Licencing Office, Rabat, Gozo by not March 28.
