A total of 106 teenage mothers were registered between January and May this year.

Social Policy Minister John Dalli told Labour MP Adrian Vassallo yesterday that three were under 15, seven were 15, 12 were aged 16, 20 were 17, 33 were 18 and 31 were 19.

Most - 32, were from the north harbour area. Thirty were from the south harbour area, 20 from the north, 11 from the south, nine from the west and four from Gozo.

There were 276 teenage pregnancies last year, 247 in 2007 and 237 in 2006.
