The government bill for social services last year reflected an increase of €6.6 million, Social Services Minister Dolores Cristina told Joe Mizzi (PL) in reply to a parliamentary question.

The increase in social assistance for single mothers was about €1,184,664, while the increase for unemployed persons (both those registering as such and those who declared they were no longer fit to work) was just under €4.8 million.
