Transport Malta said today that over the coming months it will be refunding VAT paid on vehicles between May 1 and December 31,2004.

The refund will be in a single payment, less the grant paid last year.

The same process will be adopted in the coming years, until all refunds for registrations made up to the end of 2008 are settled.

Those eligible for the refunds will be notified in writing.  

Vehicle owners who receive the notification by Transport Malta must verify their personal details, sign and return the form to Transport Malta by July 31.

In the case of deceased persons, the heirs should, together with the application form, submit a joint declaration signed by a notary listing the names of the heirs.

Vehicle owners who had registered a vehicle between May 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004 but had not applied for the grant last year may fill in and submit an application form to Transport Malta.
