A group of 1,170 migrants saved from the Strait of Sicily this morning will soon be landing at the Sicilian port of Augusta, Italian media is reporting.

The Italian Navy also rescued another 358 immigrants, including 43 women, one of them pregnant, and 24 children, this morning.

They are being taken to Palermo since the shelters in Pozzallo are full.
