New fact sheets are available as part of an information campaign on consumer rights being conducted by the European Commission.

The fact sheets are about the labelling of food and non-food products.

Presenter Ray Calleja continues to feature as the face of the Commission's campaign in Malta, which seeks to educate and inform the public about their consumer rights as EU citizens and to encourage consumers to assert these rights.

An electronic version of the fact sheets, available in both Maltese and English, can be downloaded from the information campaign web pages within the website of the Consumers' Association on www.camalta.org.

In the coming weeks, the European Commission will also be publishing and distributing, to all businesses, a booklet that will focus on the obligations of the business community towards consumers.

The fact sheets are printed in Maltese and are available from Consumer House in South Street, Valletta; Forum Malta fl-Ewropa in Republic Street; the European Commission Representation in Ta' Xbiex; the Consumer and Competition Division in Sta Venera; the European Parliament Office in Valletta; and Europe Direct office in Floriana.

For more information on consumers' rights one may contact Consumer House on 2122 1901 or the Consumers and Competition Division on 8007 4400.
