It is a fact that Gozo Channel crossings have increased considerably during the last couple of years. However, I feel that it is no longer appropriate to reduce the number of crossings in the early hours throughout the summer and winter periods. I need hardly emphasise that, nowadays, one may need to commute between the two islands at any time of the day or night.

The 1.30 trip from Mġarr is followed by another at 3.30 and then at 5. Obviously, these long gaps are very inconvenient to us Gozitans requiring to cross over to Malta for whatever need, such as flights and hospitalisation.

More frequent ferry crossings will be a godsend to Gozitan commuters.
