Ranier Fsadni’s comment (May 24) made good reading and his piece was also adorned by a picture of our Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi.

What Fsadni seems to forget is that we already have a monument to this illustrious person. That is the Electrogas power station, plus the LNG tanker in Marsaxlokk Bay. If I remember correctly, this set-up was inaugurated by none other than EU chief Jean-Claude Juncker, with an affectionate tap on the back to our Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

I think Juncker must have forgotten the EU rule that LNG tankers should not be placed in harbours. However, it seems that breaking the rules for friends is quite in order, don’t you think?

In any way, I do not think Mizzi would go along with the idea of having his monument alongside that of Lorry Sant.

That would not be right, would it, considering that Sant had been linked with blatant corruption? Mizzi, on the other hand, is only striving to earn a living for his dear family.
