A former Maritime Authority clerk has been jailed for two years after being convicted of bribery.

Ivan Muscat, 38 of Zurrieq, was found to have been involved in bribery in the granting of maritime licences.

Another MMA official, John Farrugia, head of the Small Ships Section, is awaiting judgement on the same case.

Both were accused of receiving kickbacks for the illegal granting of licences.
