Alternattiva Demokratika has called for the resignation of the Mepa board in the wake of a report by the Planning Commission which faulted the Authority on the granting of the permit for the development in Mistra.

Carmel Cacopardo, Deputy Chairman and spokesman on Sustainable Development, said it had noted the page by Planning Commisisoner David Pace on the request of the Environmental NGO Din l-Art Ħelwa. He had concluded that there were failures by the Planning Directorate’s Major Projects Unit and the MEPA Boards which failures justify the revocation of the Mistra permits.

"Faced with such a report the Mepa Board has no option but to resign forthwith and pave the way for a new board which would be expected to withdraw the permits issued," Mr Cacopardo said.
