Former Prime Minister and Labour leader Dom Mintoff was admitted to hospital yesterday after falling at his house in Tarxien.

Mr Mintoff, 94, was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital in the afternoon “in a confused state” shortly after the fall in which he sustained slight injuries.

Later the Labour Party’s website, maltastar.com said Mr Mintoff’s condition was critical and he was admitted to the ITU. The Department of Information only said Mr Mintoff had been admitted to Mater Dei for medical tests.

The Labour Party said it was following closely developments with regard to Mr Mintoff’s health, adding his condition was stable.
