Gozo Minister Anton Refalo said in parliament this evening that he was ready to set up a committee to formulate a policy on priority boarding and the free access card for the Gozo ferries.

If the Opposition agreed, he said, the committee would be formed by a representative of the government, a representative of the opposition and a retired judge.

The minister was replying to a question by shadow minister Chris Said at the end of question time.

Dr Said said the policy which existed under the former government had disappeared from the Gozo Channel website and the minister had told Times of Malta that this issue was within his discretion.

The minister said he had nothing to hide and was therefore prepared to set up this committee
