Throughout the vivid and dynamic history of the Mini car, art has remained a key aspect of the Mini brand.

Hence, When Miss Alexia Mifsud – organiser of the Street Art festival Sliema approached Muscats Motors and Mini to collaborate for the upcoming street Art Festival, it was an affirmative yes. Muscats Motors and Mini shall be providing this innovative event with 3 classic Minis to be used as canvases for street art, courtesy of Godwin Mizzi- member of the Malta Mini Owners Club.

The theme of this year’s event will be one that will take the Maltese people’s memories back to cultural values, lost along the years. Using a mirage of bright colours, the Sliema Street Art Festival will bring back various values that have been lost around Europe. This includes those of the Classic Minis which often triggers nostalgia for the average Maltese person, as there was once a Mini assembly plant based here in Malta. “Lost Cultures” will result in a colourful combination of different nationalities, histories, cultures and styles.

The Art Festival will be in one of the busiest promenades in Malta with a world class line-up of street artists from around Europe. This festival will be providing 200m² of wall to be painted on, where anyone is invited to participate and decorate. Close to the wall, one will be able to spot classic Minis being used as canvases for the artists present. Nearby will be the Mini area, where everyone is invited to relax on some Mini deckchairs with family and friends, and also enter the MINI competition- where one can win up for 500 euro worth of vouchers to be redeemed on MINI lifestyle products. People will also have the opportunity to pose and take pictures with the Minis which will then appear on the Mini Malta Facebook page.

There will be 100 easels used for artists to exhibit artwork and live painting, music, food, dance and entertainment will also feature at this spectacular event. This event will transform the promenade into a melting pot of art and music with artists, locals and visitors enjoying the weekend side by side.

The event will take place between June 28-30 on the Sliema promenade.
