The Malta Pool Association recently participated in the World Pool Championships in Blackpool England. The Maltese governing body is represented by four teams in the competition.

Christ Mills has so far achieved the best result so far after winning the Masters category.

The veteran player powered his way to the final where he had the better of Ireland’s Tom Bagnall 6-2. This was the first time that Mills had won this title.

The men’s U-23 selection had a fine start when they had the better of Ireland B 6-3 and then overcame India 7-2.

In the O-50 category, Malta played two matches and they beat Northern Ireland 14-11 before having the better of Ireland.

The men’s senior team endured a miserable start as they suffered three successive defeats against Scotland 11-10, N. Ireland 11-10 and Australia 13-8.
