Militaria will be on display at Selmun on April 23 in an activity being organised by the Selmun Residents Association.

The all-day event is called Operation Herkules, the same name given by Hitler for his planned invasion of Malta in the Second World War. The invasion never took place because the Germans thought they could submit Malta through aerial bombing.

They also feared, after what took place in the invasion of Crete, that an invasion of Malta would be far too costly.

The Selmun activity near Selmun Palace, will however feature a battle re-enactment, as well as an exhibition of vehicles and equipment associated with the Second World War.

The activity is being held in association with Battlefront Living History Group Malta and the  Military Vehicle Collector Club.
