Milan have signed veteran defender Nicola Legrottaglie from Juventus, the Serie A leaders confirmed yesterday.

The 34-year-old Legrottaglie completed his transfer after Juve signed Andrea Barzagli from Wolfsburg last week.

A statement from Milan read: “Milan announce the signing of Juventus player Nicola Legrottaglie on a permanent deal.

“Legrottaglie has signed a contract until June 30, 2011.”

Milan had been looking for defensive cover with Alessandro Nesta sidelined through injury.

Legrottaglie is Milan’s fifth signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of Urby Emanuelson, Didac Vila, Mark Van Bommel and Antonio Cassano.

The former Italy international could make his debut in tomorrow’s match against Lazio.

Meanwhile, Brazilian striker Amauri will end the season at Parma after he agreed a loan move from Serie A giants Juventus.

The Brazilian-born player, who earlier yesterday rejected moves to Fulham and West Brom, met Parma’s top officials yesterday afternoon and a deal was quickly agreed.

Following Amauri’s departure, Juve quickly stepped up their efforts to replace his void and managed to capture the services of Alessandro Matri on loan from Cagliari.

Matri will arrive on loan at a cost of €2.5m, with Juventus having the option to sign him outright in the summer for €15.5m.
