Milan kept on Lazio’s heels at the top of Serie A as they beat 10-man Napoli 2-1 at the San Paolo stadium in Naples last night.

Milan now trail Lazio by just two points in second place while Napoli, who were by far the better side for long periods remain sixth.

Napoli, as ever, were slow out of the blocks and Milan were ahead as Robinho played a one-two with Massimo Oddo before finishing inside the far corner.

Just before half-time Napoli were reduced to ten men when Pazienza was dismissed for a second booking.

Even down to 10 men, Napoli were on the attack but they paid for poor defending on 71 minutes as Oddo burst down the right and crossed into the centre where Ibrahimovic headed home.

Napoli pulled one back on 78 minutes when Lavezzi fell after a challenge with Papastathopoulos but still managed to flick the ball over Abbiati and in off the bar.
