Serbian player Jovan Mihailovic, formerly of Mellieħa Bullets, has agreed to play for Loyola next season.

Ray Cuschieri, president of Loyola, hailed Mihailovic's signing as a boost for the club who have just secured promotion to the top division.

Cuschieri is confident that Mihailovic will strengthen Loyola's bid to retain their top-flight status next season.

"Jovan Mihailovic is very enthusiastic to play for Loyola," Cuschieri said in a statement. "His experience and dedication will surely have a positive effect on our young squad."

Mihailovic, 25, said he's excited by the challenge of playing in the top echelon of Maltese basketball and promised to do his utmost to help Loyola reach their objectives.

Loyola have also confirmed coach Paul Sultana for next season as well as several players who guided the team to a well-earned promotion. These are Jonathan Zammit, Clint Cassar, Sean Pace, Stefan Vella, Billy Joel Zammit, Gianluca Cuschieri, Nigel Sultana and Mark Cilia.

The statement also said that the Loyola committee are in talks with another player to join them for next season.
