The Italian police have arrested 18 migrants who were landed near Porto Palo in Siracusa over the weekend, as well as four Libyans who piloted their 14-metre boat.

Documents, Libyan currency and satellite phones were found on the boat.

According to the arrested migrants, 246 migrants had been ferried to Italy.
