Michael Mifsud was on the mark as Barnsley held promotion chasers Birmingham City to a 1-1 draw at the Oakwell Stadium last night.

Starting in an all Maltese forward line-up alongside fellow countryman Daniel Bogdanovic, Mifsud looked to have given Barnsley three precious points when he rammed the ball home eight minutes from time.

However, Barnsley's joy was shortlived as Simon Davies's men conceded an equalizer three minutes later when Martin Taylor headed the ball home from a Sebastian Larrsson free-kick.

The two points dropped proved costly for Barnsley who remained fourth from bottom with 40 points from 35 matches.
