Christopher Whittle, who for the past three years has been the project manager on MIDI plc's redevelopment project at Tigné Point, will shortly be leaving Malta, to take on a new role in Portugal.

Mr Whittle has had a long and distinguished career and his international experience has played an important role in getting the MIDI project off the ground.

"Chris has been a great asset to MIDI and his experience and hard work have significantly contributed to the brisk progress in the redevelopment of Tigné Point," said MIDI's chief executive officer Benjamin Muscat. "I would like to thank him for all his efforts and wish him every success in his new challenge."

Prior to his arrival in Malta, Mr Whittle's international career saw him play an important role in some of the most important infrastructural projects in a number of countries.

The projects he has been associated with have varied from power contracts in Cameroon, Malawi and Hong Kong, to civil engineering projects in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines as well as residential and commercial developments in Spain and Portugal.

Before joining MIDI, Mr Whittle was responsible for contract management for the civil engineering works at the new Athens International Airport.
