Microsoft Malta launched Microsoft's next wave of innovation software during a one-day seminar themed 'Heroes happen (here)' earlier this month.

Business decision-makers, IT professionals and developers in Malta were able to experience the Windows Server 2008 operating system, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, and interact with top international software experts. Microsoft Malta Ltd also invited four international software experts who each gave a presentation and led workshops.

Addressing the assembly, Pierre Mallia, country manager, Microsoft Malta Ltd, said: "In today's ever growing global business environment and digital work style, IT departments face challenges to provide rich, connected capabilities across the infrastructure, while protecting both the environment and its confidential data from intrusion and disruption.

"Microsoft helps customers respond to these challenges by enabling dynamic IT and providing the customers with the necessary tools to support technical innovations to make their IT infrastructure and development teams more strategic to the business.

"Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 provide a secure and trusted platform for creating and running the most demanding applications. Combined, the products provide a solid foundation for next generation Web applications, broad support for virtualisation technologies, and seamless access to relevant information. Overall, the next wave of innovation further enables our field and partners to deliver the vision of dynamic IT to our customers."
