Miami streets were left underwater after Tropical Depression Emily drenched parts of Florida before moving up the Southeast coast.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood advisory for parts of Miami-Dade County. The street flooding advisory was put into effect just as the heavy rain began.

Flooding did not stop drivers who continued to drive through heavily flooded areas leaving some stranded. There have been no reports of injuries, though lightning struck a diesel truck.

Thousands of people in the Miami-Dade area are without power.
