Malta International Airport shares, which were listed on Monday, made their debut on the Malta Stock Exchange on Wednesday, when two deals for 1,400 changed hands at Lm0.73.

No further trades were executed during the week. Best bids for 8,200 shares at Lm0.60 and best offers of 1,500 shares at Lm0.73 were outstanding following yesterday's session.

Meanwhile, in a company announcement issued on Monday, Malta International Airport plc stated that the board of directors is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, January 14, to approve the interim accounts for the six months ended September 30, and to consider the declaration of an interim dividend.

Four deals were struck in Bank of Valletta shares on Monday, when 2,500 shares changed hands. Trading was struck between the opening price of Lm2.72, and Lm2.74, the closing price, which was up by 1c5 on the previous reading. The following session saw trading open again at Lm2.72. This time, however, in a session spanning 13 deals for 11,563 shares, the price went down to close at Lm2.70, down by 4c.

The shares next traded on Thursday, when three deals were struck at Lm2.74. Turnover amounted to 2,780 during the session. Yesterday was a replica of Monday's session, as trading opened at Lm2.72 and went up to close at Lm2.74.

Six deals were struck over which 3,000 shares changed hands. At the close of business yesterday, 1,090 shares at Lm2.71 and 1,090 shares at Lm2.745 were left as the best outstanding bids and offers respectively.

In a company announcement issued on Thursday, Bank of Valletta stated that all resolutions on the agenda during the annual general meeting were approved.

Maltacom shares saw two deals being struck on Monday. The opening deal was struck at Lm1.011, while the second deal was struck at Lm1.02, down by 1c on the previous reading.

Turnover amounted to 1,300 shares. Seven deals were struck during the following session, between the opening price of Lm1.011 and Lm1, the closing price, where 19,601 shares were traded during the session.

Next trading on Thursday, 5,550 shares were struck in Maltacom shares between the opening price of Lm0.997 and Lm0.99, the closing price. Trading was spread over five deals.

The last session of the week saw trading stick to the Lm0.99 price, with 4,450 shares changing hands over four deals. Following yesterday's session, best bids for 1,570 shares at Lm0.99 stood against best offers of 2,200 shares at Lm1.03.

Big Bon Finance plc issued a press release on Monday, in which the allotment of bonds received was described as follows: applications made at the pre-placement stage will be allotted in full, totalling Lm1.5 million. The remainder of the applications will be allotted in full if they are of a nominal value of Lm1,000 or less.

Those for Lm1,001 to Lm10,000 will receive Lm1,000 and 20 per cent of the rest. Those for Lm10,001 to Lm 0,000 will receive Lm2,000 and 15 per cent of the rest.

Those for Lm20,001 to Lm50,000 will receive Lm5,000 and 12 per cent of the rest, and those for Lm50,001 or more will receive Lm6,600 and 9 per cent of the rest. All sums will be rounded up to the nearest Lm100. Refunds will be issued by mailed cheque and Big Bon Finance plc will inform all applicants of the numbers of bonds allotted to them.

Trading over the week in Corporate Bonds was made up of a total value of Lm60,365.75, spread as follows:

- Two deals struck in the 6.15 per cent Bank of Valletta 2010, in which a nominal value of Lm5,000 changed hands at Lm103.

- Three deals struck in the 6.5 per cent Corinthia Finance 2010 (EUR), in which a nominal value of €11,700 changed hands at e100.

- Two deals struck in the 6.75 per cent Corinthia Finance 2009, in which a nominal value of Lm3,500 changed hands between Lm102.25 and Lm102.50.

- One deal struck in the 6.75 per cent Corinthia Finance 2012, in which a nominal value of Lm3,500 changed hands at Lm102.00.

- One deal struck in the 6.5 per cent CareMalta Finance 2008/11, in which a nominal value of Lm500 changed hands at Lm101.

- Two deals struck in the 7.25 per cent HSBC 2005, in which a nominal value of Lm1,400 changed hands at Lm105 and Lm106.

- Two deals struck in the MGP Bonds, in which a nominal value of Lm2,000 changed hands at Lm100.

- Four deals struck in the 6.7 per cent Mizzi Organisation Finance 2009/12, in which a nominal value of Lm10,100 changed hands between Lm103 and Lm103.25.

- Two deals struck in the 6.6 per cent Simonds Farsons Cisk 2010/12, in which a nominal value of Lm1,000 changed hands at Lm104 and Lm104.01.

- Five deals struck in the 6.7 per cent Tumas Secured Notes, in which a nominal value of Lm20,400 changed hands at Lm103.20.

- Three deals struck in the 6.7 per cent Tumas Investments 2010/12, in which a nominal value of Lm2,700 changed hands between Lm101.24 and Lm101.25.

- Three deals struck in the eight per cent Bay Street 2012, in which a nominal value of Lm2,000 changed hands between Lm96.98 and Lm96.99.

- One deal struck in the 7.5 per cent San Antonio 2012, in which a nominal value of Lm2,100 changed hands at Lm97.

Total Malta Government Stock turnover over the week amounted to a nominal value of Lm684,000 being struck in 35 deals over 11 different stocks. Interesting to note that a deal for Lm500,000 nominal was struck in the seven per cent MGS 2003 at Lm110.40.

The Malta Stock Exchange Share Index decreased by 4.27 points over the week, equal to 0.23 per cent, and now stands at 1,835.71.
