Mgarr will host its 'Winter Tastes' festival this evening.

As the name suggests, the accent will be on food, with several different kitchens, manned by experienced chefs being set up near the parish church.

They will offer a wide variety of typical rural winter dishes. Genuine Mgarr products and delicacies such as cheeselets, fruit wine, honey, fruit conserves, sweats as well as Mgarr tea biscuits will be on sale.

Heritage Malta will have an extensive display showcasing Mgarr's history across the ages and will offer guided tours of the Ta' Hagrat neolithic temple nearby.

The festival will also feature a Christmas themed arts and crafts exhibition, with several cribs on show at the Local Council hall.

Events start at 6 p.m.
