A report drawn up by the MFA on the basis of its investigation of alleged bribery involving a Norway-Malta match in 2007 is to be handed to UEFA prosecutors.

Informed sources said it will be UEFA which will then decide whether there are sufficient grounds for action to be taken against players who allegedly accepted bribes.

Malta's Euro 2008 qualifier away to Norway was allegedly rigged by a notorious Croatian betting syndicate whose members were tried in the German city of Bochum for fixing over 40 matches.

Marijo Cvrtak, one of the six accused, told the court during the trial that Norway's 4-0 victory over Malta at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo had been manipulated.

Cvrtak told the court that he had met with at least three Maltese players in an Oslo hotel before the game.
