Valletta player Terence Scerri has been suspended for a year from all football activities by the Malta Football Association.

The ban, which ends on May 24, 2012 will be followed by a ban for a further five FA Trophy matches.

Terence Scerri, 27 was arraigned in court on Monday accused of trying to seriously injure Floriana player Christian Cassar, slightly injuring him and relapsing.

The incidents took place during Sunday's FA Trophy final, which was won by Floriana.

Another player, Jamie Pace, was suspended for three games.
