The Malta-EU action committee (Meusac) helped 125 Maltese organisations source €3 million in EU funds since it was reconstituted a year ago, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said this morning.
In a meeting with the Meusac core group, Dr Gonzi praised the committee for its work and said it was very important that civil society was kept well informed about the EU and the opportunities available to Malta through EU membership.
He also pointed out that it was thanks to EU membership that Malta last week was able to secure the investment in Malta by SR Technics and EasyJet for aircraft maintenance in Malta.
Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said said Meusac had contributed to social dialogue and he wished to thank all the social partners and organisations taking part. He said Meusac would continue to remain focused on keeping the people informed on the EU.
