Mepa said today that it intends to make all planning application documents available online for public viewing.
"This will ensure that members of the public who are interested in viewing details of proposed developments will be able to view the submitted proposed plans in detail, together with other documentation related to the applications," the Authority said.
Any correspondence or objections in relation to the proposed projects will also be be made available online. That will include correspondence between Mepa itself and its consultants.
People will still be able to file their objections to proposed developments anonymously, and their objection will also be made public.
The authority said this measure was part of its reform process, aimed at bring about greater transparency.
