The Malta Environment and Planning Authority has strongly refutes a claim by Flimkien Ghall-Ambjent Ahjar yesterday that it that over the past days it was rushing with the processing of planning applications due to the forthcoming election.
Mepa said in a statement that is was "unfounded and irresponsible".FAA knew that with the new procedures, as introduced in January, an application could not be placed for a decision on the agenda of an Environment and Planning Commission from one day to the next. The new procedure entailed that an application was placed on the EPC’s agenda at least 21 days before the public hearing.Agendas are accessible to the public through the Mepa website.Additionally, all planning decisions are published on the website daily and once a week on a local newspaper.
