The reform process at the Malta Environment and Planning Authority is bearing fruit in spite of the Opposition’s attacks, the Environment Parliamentary Secretariat said in a statement.
Replying to a statement issued yesterday by the Labour Party’s spokesman for the Environment who said that the authority still had to reform itself, the secretariat said that the process should lead to a more efficient, consistent, transparent and effective authority.
It was it was easy for one to underline one or two cases and ignore all the other applications processed professionally and efficiently daily.
It was easy to ignore the revolution which had been introduced in the processing of development applications with the introduction of pre-screening.
The secretariat said that the government was committed to continue with the Mepa reform process, which permitted the refinement of procedures for more efficiency and transparency.
