The Malta Environment and Planning Authority has once again supported Cystic Fibrosis Fundraising Malta through last week’s Malta Marathon.

This year, more than 360 participants in the Malta Marathon chose to run and walk to raise awareness and support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Josette Falzon, the lead representative of CF Trust in Malta said: “We are overwhelmed by the response and support we received from the public who voluntarily chose to run or walk for our cause. In a special way we also thank Mepa and other businesses that give us the financial support to organise different fundraising initiatives throughout the year.”

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease caused by a faulty gene. There is currently no cure for the disease, although there are several treatments to increase a patient’s life expectancy. All the money raised through these fundraising initiatives goes towards the research programmes that are exploring a cure for the disease.
