The industrial dispute between professional staff and the Malta Environment and Planning Authority has been resolved.

The unions representing Mepa workers reached an agreement with the planning authority and the Office of the Prime Minister regarding the transfer of staff.

The Union Professjonisti tal-Awtorità ta' Malta dwar l-Ambjent u l-Ippjanar (UPAP) had objected to the way the transfer was to be carried out as it would have first required redundancy. Mepa em-ployees had been directed not to answer the phone or e-mails and not to communicate with the public, the government or other authorities. The directives have now been lifted.
