The case officer and team manager of the Tal-Virtu seminary school extension application have been exonerated from any wrong doing or abuse in their assessment of case by the board of the Malta Environment and Planning Authroity.

In an investigation into the processing and granting of a development planning permit, the board decided that ‘the case was satisfactorily concluded’.

Following the publication of the auditor’s report last month, the board called for a thorough examination into the case.

The auditor had concluded that the development application was not assessed in accordance with the approved policies and procedures and that both the case officer and the Area Team Manager had misled the DCC. He had said that appropriate action had to be taken in their regard.

In its conclusion, the board called on the auditor to give any officer or person under his investigation the opportunity to explain their actions prior to reaching any conclusions.
